Board of Directors

The FUPOA Board of Directors consists of one elected officer from each campus, serving as representatives of their respective home campuses. This Board is comprised of ten Officers/Directors. Additionally, there is an Executive Board within the FUPOA, comprising the Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and President positions.

Additional Info:- It is an honor to serve as President of the Federated University Police Officers’ Association (FUPOA), representing over 250 police officers across 10 campuses. I have served on the FUPOA Board for the last 6 years. I was the Treasurer for 2 years and President for the last 4.

I have been a police officer with UC Riverside for 21 years, where I have held numerous special assignments. Prior to UC Riverside, I worked as a Police & Fire Dispatcher, Community Service Officer, and Police Explorer with other agencies in the Inland Empire and Orange County.

I have always had a passion for representing and advocating for fellow employees. I have served on the Board of Directors for the Corona General Employees Association and have also served as the President of a Homeowners Association prior to my time on the FUPOA Board.

Additional Info: I've experienced working for two agencies over the past two decades and I have really enjoyed it. With all of the experience I've gained, my most memorable experiences have been solving cases as a Detective.

Additional Info: Retired from the Sacramento Police Department where I was an officer for 20 years. Most of my career was spent as a Detective working in the Homicide, Sexual Assaults, and Robbery Units. I was also an executive board member with the SPOA for 8 years. I worked for the Los Gatos Police Department and the Monterey County Sheriff's Department prior to lateraling to the Sacramento Police Department.

Additional Info: While at UCPD, Officer James Kim has served as a Field Training Officer, a Motor Officer, a Defensive Tactics Instructor, and as a member of the System-wide Response Team (SRT). He has an MBA from Pepperdine University and also served in combat with the United States Marine Corps in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and ultimately retired as a Chief Warrant Officer after 22 years of service. He enjoys his free time with his wife of 16 years and their 4 children.

Additional Info: I was an Emergency/Lead Dispatcher for Santa Cruz Regional 9-1-1 for 11.5 years, then a Santa Cruz Police Officer for 7 years where I worked patrol and later as a detective. I lateraled to UCSC PD in 2020, where I have worked patrol for the last 3 years.
